Privacy Policy — Matematikef

Matematikef ("the app") is an educational math-practice app. This document describes exactly what data leaves the device, when, and why.

No account, no ads, no third-party tracking

There is no sign-up, login, username or password. The app has no ads, no advertising/device ID for ads (Advertising ID / IDFA), no in-app purchases, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. This build has no AI/LLM features of any kind.

One backend: Supabase

When data is sent at all (see below), it goes to a single hosting provider, Supabase, under an anonymous per-install identifier generated on the device. There is no email, password, or real account behind that identifier.

Nothing is sent before a parent agrees

The first time the app would send anything, it shows a one-time notice addressed to a parent, and no data leaves the device before that notice is accepted. Declining keeps the app fully local and functional.

What is sent, and why

Only after a parent accepts, three separate data sets may be sent:

• Anonymous daily usage summary — which topics/games were opened, counts of correct/wrong/helped answers, and time spent. Typed answers are never sent, and no name or nickname is attached to this data set.
• The child's chosen profile nickname — sent separately, used only by the developer's private admin dashboard (not public, not visible to other players) to label usage data per child.
• The profile nickname plus a game score — when playing on the shared global leaderboard, the nickname and score are shown publicly to other players.

Leaderboard nickname safety

Nicknames are checked both on the device and on the server: 2–16 characters, and a filter against offensive words, links, emails and phone numbers. Every leaderboard entry can be reported. An entry reported by 3 different devices is hidden automatically until the developer reviews it. Any device can also block another player locally (stored on-device only, never sent). A report stores the reporting device's anonymous ID, the reported entry, and a reason chosen from a fixed list — no free text.

Parent controls (PIN-protected parents area)

From the PIN-protected parents area, a parent can at any time: turn off sending data (also immediately removes the child's leaderboard entries), delete everything already sent to the server, unblock all blocked players, view a link to this policy, and contact the developer.

Reinstalling / uninstalling

The anonymous ID lives only on the device. Uninstalling the app loses it — delete data from the parents area before uninstalling, not after. Data tied to an old install can still be deleted on request by email, ideally with the install code shown in the parents area if you still have it.

Read-aloud

The read-aloud feature uses the device's built-in speech engine. The app does not record or send any audio.

What stays on the device only

Progress, achievements and personal settings stay on the device and are not part of the data described above.

Children

The app does not ask a child for a full name, email address, phone number, or location. The parent chooses the profile nickname.
